Dell Opening Up?

Jeff Jarvis at BuzzMachine says Dell's IdeaStorm is only one way in which Dell is trying to open up all of its processes and become more customer-driven. He says the sales department has the most work to do, though.

It appears a former Dell says guys posted 22 tips on how to get the best deal on Dell. This created some controversy when The Consumerist refused to take them down after Dell's lawyers issued a take-down notice.

Jeff's solution?

You see, if you read between the lines of what the ex-sales guy wrote, you simply see his list of the worries he has heard that keep customers from buying Dell products. Hear those problems and solve them openly and you will sell more products and garner more trust and goodwill and customers. Openness is a strategy.

Perfect.
